„When Strawinsky is working, he is always oversensitive. Everything that is happening appears enlarged. At first, I was astonished to see how slowly he works. He often composes at the piano, highly concentrated, snorting and struggling to find the tones and chords, which he seems to be hearing. To imagine that such an entangled musical score as the Sacre du Printemps was composed in this way, was amazing.”
